Fulfilled: Architecture, Excess, and Desire

Fulfilled Exhibition.jpg

In February 2020, Ohio State University’s Knowlton School of Architecture presented Fulfilled, a symposium and exhibition that considered the role of architecture in a culture shaped by the excessive manufacture and assuagement of desire. Organized and curated by Assistant Professor Ashley Bigham and designed by Outpost Office, the symposium’s contributors examined the architecture of fulfillment through logistical, material, and cultural concerns, revealing the new forms of architectural practice and research that are possible, typical, and even surreptitiously encouraged in this era.

PLP worked with Bigham to develop the symposium into an in-depth book proposal. Now that the book is forthcoming from Applied Research & Design, PLP is working with Bigham to edit the text and prepare the final manuscript for publication in fall 2021.
